Suspects steal two sheep after cutting fence

As the large number of sheep seen grazing in the field, the manager is quick to point out the absence of the two stolen sheep. Explaining the theft case was the manager at one of the plots in Zeekoewater and the shepherd.

According to the 45-year-old shepherd he said that when he went to sleep on Sunday, July 9 everything was okay and the sheep were in the kraal.

Two sheep were stolen at one of Zeekoewater’s plot’s. The sheep stolen were a similar breed to the one seen in the picture. The incident happened between July 9 and July 10.

On Monday morning, the shepherd went to check inside the kraal where he noticed that two sheep were missing.
When the shepherd conducted his own research he came to the conclusion that the sheep were pulled out from the kraal and exited the yard through a fence that was cut.

The manager said the hole in the fence was much bigger than it was when the incident happened. The fence had to be fixed as soon as possible because they feared other sheep might escape.

“To some people it may seem two sheep are nothing but truly speaking two sheep are worth a lot, especially the kind that was stolen,” said the manager.

Recently Vosman Police Station had a livestock workshop where they educated farmers on how to keep their livestock from being stolen.

The fence was cut off during the theft of the two sheep. The incident happened between July 9 and July 10.

The invitation for this meeting was open to people living in and around Emalahleni.

The aim of the meeting was to establish livestock forums in the affected areas and to assist livestock owners by informing them of the animal Identification Act.

The objective was to assist with brand mark application, have an open channel for information from the livestock owners and to create and maintain a better communication platform between members and livestock owners.
