What about the accounts?

A new media statement was released by municipal spokesperson, Mr Kingdom Mabuza. This sheds some light on the EasyPay method of payment used by most consumers.

The rates and taxes statement barcode generated on the new system varies from the previous one, the current barcode has 10 digits and the previous statement had 7 digits.

The EasyPay number which is used in various retail outlets for payment has changed it has 18 digits and previously had 15 digits. There are 3 extra zeros which have been added.

All consumers who uses various retail outlets to make payments are advised to use the barcodes printed on old statements not later than June 2017 until the various retail outlets have updated their systems to match the new barcodes which contain additional characters.

From any retail outlets the cashier may remove the 3 zeros(0) added on the new statements.
