Three homes broken into in two days

Residents of eMalahleni were robbed once again in their homes.

Two house robberies took place on the same day just a few hours apart from one another.

The first incident occurred on Tuesday, January 30 at 13:00 when Ms Christinah Skhosana alleged that she was at home where she was working and she was waiting for a delivery.

Skhosana alleged that someone hooted at the gate and she went to open up the gate for the delivery person. He said he needed a pen for her to sign the documentation; he then followed her into the house where he held her up. While she was held up, another person came into the house taking a safe with a rifle inside, the television, coins and a laptop.

Later the same day at 23:00 Mr Anele Mpumlo alleged that he was at his home in Tasbet Park sleeping when a noise inside the house woke him up. It sounded like the kitchen door being broken into, so he went to check what was going on when he heard a shot fired from outside.

That is when Mpumlo noticed that there were four unknown men standing outside with balaclavas on.

Three of the suspects were armed with firearms and the other suspect had a crow bar.
Mpumlo recalls the men entered through the kitchen door and all of them pointed their firearms at him.
Fearing for his life now Mpumlo ran to his bedroom where he locked himself in the room.

After a couple of minutes the house was quiet again and that is when Mpumlo went out to check what was going on. He found that the suspects had taken the television, two laptops and a wallet.

The previous day another house robbery occurred in Model Park on Monday, January 29 at 04:19.
Mr William Nkosi alleged that he was asleep in his room when two unknown men entered the house.

As he looked up one of the suspects tried to strangle him, so that he could not move.

Nkosi still on the bed with a suspect keeping him pinned down, the other suspect started searching the room.

The suspects took his bag filled with clothes and his wallet then left.
In all three cases nobody has been arrested yet.
