Woman robbed of R30 000 in the CBD

Robbery with a firearm cases are on the rise. It seems more and more people fall victim to this crime on a daily basis. Last week three cases were opened at the Witbank Police Station.

The most recent one happened on Thursday, January 25 when a woman was robbed of R30 000 that she withdrew at a bank. After withdrawing the money she went back to the car and drove with her husband to a filling station situated in the Central Business District.

When her husband went into the garage’s quick shop, two men came and threatened her with a firearm instructing her to give them the money she withdrew.

At that time the husband came back from the shop and he was assaulted by the suspects. The one suspect that was armed went back to the car and took a brown handbag, purse and money.
