Pastor Mtsweni told the people that they were taking the land question very serious and they want to make a difference in the lives of the people by not only promising, but by doing things. He indicated that they were going to organise a march to claim back their land which they have already identified.

“We are on a mission to claim back what belongs to us. We want to bring back the status of Phola. Our land is being taken left, right and centre and we are quiet. Mines are occupying our land without compensation and now we want to claim back what belong to us. We do not want RDP houses but we want land. We are not afraid of anybody because we have been silent and scared for a long time now. We do not even have a shopping complex like any other places in the province. Some complexes are named Phola Complex they are not here but in KwaNdebele.”

Pastor Mtsweni told the people to stand together as the struggle ahead will be tough. He stated that they have been surrounded by mines but they do not benefit anything out of that. The people were told to register their names, addresses and contact details. He promised that he was going to take the municipality head on as the land issue.

“We have had many promises and none of them have been fulfilled. We have been promised an old age home but nothing has come out of that. We have nothing to show off in Phola and we are being disrespected. There is no programme set for Phola, no vision and as a young generation we are saying enough is enough. It is all about our children, our municipality is busy selling our land. We are going to march and claim back our land even if they can send the Red Ants. We are also going to invite the mayor and Phola councillors to see us taking back our land,” added Pastor Mtswe
