More businesses were robbed by armed suspects and no one has been arrested.
“I was at work on Monday, 28 May at about 22:15 when three unknown men approached me,” said the man.
“I was going to clock in and I already had my dog and panic button with me.”
Three men wearing balaclavas approached him and one pointed a firearm at him telling him to drop everything.
“I did as they told and I went to tie the dog,” explained the man.
The suspects then allegedly took a shoe lace and tied his hands behind his back. The suspects then allegedly made him get into the bakkie and took the keys.
It is believed that they then drove towards the workshop. It is believed that on arrival the suspects told the man to lie down while they break into the shop.
“Then the alarm went off, one of them came and hit me with a monkey wrench,” said the man. “They were angry because I didn’t tell them that the alarm was still on.”
The suspects then got into the Toyota Hilux and drove off. Before they left, they also took the man’s Samsung J5 Smartphone.
“They just dumped the bakkie somewhere and police found it.”
No arrests have yet been made and police are still investigating the case.
It is alleged that on Tuesday, 29 May, a local cash loan business got robbed. While busy with her normal duties, the employee of this business got robbed. It is believed that two unknown African males entered the shop as normal customers.
Firstly they asked the employee about the procedure to obtain a loan. Allegedly one of the suspects took out a firearm while the employee was distracted.
Allegedly one of the suspects put his hand through the opening of the glass window and grabbed her Samsung J5 Smartphone and black i-Pad. The suspects then ran out. No arrests have yet been made and police are still investigating the case.
On Friday, June 1 at about 00:00pm while sitting in the guard room, two men heard a window break and a gun was pointed through the window.
Allegedly one of the men got up quickly and blocked the door. It is believed that the suspects threatened to shoot if the door was not opened. The men opened the door and saw that there were seven armed African males.
They allegedly started to load a truck with gas bottles and then left the premises. All relevant role players went to visit the scene but no arrests have been made yet.
