Ga-Nala Hilux thieves arrested

Three men were arrested after attempting to steal a Toyota Hilux bakkie at Matla Power Station.

It is alleged that on Saturday, September 29, three African males went to Matla Power Station and attempted to steal a bakkie.

The Kriel SAPS were informed and Const Joseph Msiza and Winnie Mahlangu went out to the scene. They allegedly found a dark grey Nissan X-Trail crashed and stuck in the parking lot.

The Nissan had a MP number plate on top of a GP number plate. The Eskom security guards informed the police that these three men were caught trying to steal a bakkie.

The three suspects were interviewed by police and they failed to give a reason as to why they were at the power station since they are not employees of Matla.

They allegedly also couldn’t explain why they had the double number plates. Police officers then searched the Nissan and found a six channel jammer, different car keys as well as many tools.

Some of the things that were found in the Nissan X-Trail.

The three suspects were then arrested for fraud and attempting car theft.

The suspects all went to court for a bail application but this however was denied since it came to light that these men were linked with many other hi-jacking and murder cases.

The men are all three from Soweto. The matter was postponed to October 2, for further investigations.
